Sketching

- Individual event.
- Topic will be given on the spot.
- Only black and white cartoons to be made.
- Time: 2 hours
Greeting Card Making

- Individual event.
- Stationery to be brought by the participants
- Time: 2 hours
Photography
- Registration : Form Link
- Individual event.
- 3 photos depicting the theme should be submitted online for
  prelims
- Details of the photo-shutter speed aperture, ISO, camera make,
  etc. are to be mentioned on Word document along with the title of
  the photograph that they have taken
- Photographs submitted must be of the highest quality possible and
  should be atlast 1200* 800 pixels and the photos must be in JPEG format
- Basic Editing ,Including colour enhancement and cropping of photos is
  acceptable provided any such photo dose not affect the authenticity/genuineness
  of the photo.

STAGE

Indian Dance Classical (solo)
- Registration : Form Link
- Time: 4+1 mins on stage.
- Only Authentic Classical song to be used.
- Only one song permitted, No mixing of songs.
- No live music allowed. No film songs will be allowed.
Indian Dance Group: Non Theme (Film / Folk)
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 5 + 1 mins. On stage.
- Fusion of songs is allowed
- Songs should be only from Indian Films, No remixes, No Album Songs.
- Only Indian Dance Forms (Including Bollywood, Contemporary) are allowed.
- The songs must have lyrics.
- Min 8 and max 15 members in a team
- Minimum props will be allowed.
- No fire on stage, No vulgarity in costume, movements or lyrics.
Dance Duet
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 2+1 mins. On stage
- Only Indian film songs allowed
- Mixing of songs allowed (maximum 2 songs)
- Vulgarity in movements and costume will not be entertained.
- Boys and girls attempting to perform lifts during the performance
  are strictly not allowed.
- Hand holds are permitted as long as they are appropriate.
- Boy and Boy, Girl and Girl lifts are allowed but will be considered against
  the rule if it is inappropriate or vulgar.
- The use of fire and water on stage is not allowed.
- No Western dance form will be allowed.
Acapella (Group)
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 10 + 2 mins. (Entry to Exit Stage, Including setup)
- In case of failure to adhere to the allotted time limit, output volumes will be
  cut and there would be deduction of points/min (discretion of the judges)
- Minimum of 5 and Maximum of 10 members per team (Including a Beatboxer)
- Maximum of 3 songs within the time limit.
- Medleys are not allowed.
- Individual prizes: Best original composition, best vocalist, best arrangement and
  best beatboxer. (Only for Finals)
- No instruments or Backup Tracks allowed for Acapella.
Battle of the Bands (Western)
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 12+3 minutes (including setup and clearance time).
- In case of failure to adhere to the allotted time limit, output volumes
  will be cut and there would be deduction of points/min (discretion of the judges)
- Minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 members per team
- A basic 5 piece band is required to be eligible to participate in the
  competition.
- Lineup of the band does not matter if the just above rule is adhered to.
- Any Rhythmic accompaniment (Beat/Drum/Percussion) through a keyboard is
  not allowed.
- A standard 5-piece Drum kit will be provided.
- Growling is NOT allowed.
- Bands SHOULD only have 2 vocalists.
- Individual Prizes for Best Original Composition, Best Vocalist, Best Keyboardist,
  Best Guitarist, Best Bassist, Best Drummer. (Only for finals)
- Failure to adhere to the given rules of this event will result in disqualification.
Battle of the Bands (Indian)
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 12+3 minutes (including setup and clearance time).
- In case of failure to adhere to the allotted time limit, output volumes
  will be cut and there would be deduction of points/min (discretion of the judges)
- Minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 members per team
- A basic 5 piece band with at least one Indian melodic or percussive Instrument
  is required to be eligible to participate in the competition. (Eg. Drummer, Bassist,
  Rhythm Guitarist,Lead Guitarist, Flutist and a Vocalist or Drummer Bassist, Guitarist,
  Keyboardist, Mridangam player and a Vocalist.)
- Lineup of the band does not matter if the just above rule is adhered to.
- Any Rhythmic accompaniment (Beat/Drum/Percussion) through a keyboard is
  not allowed.
- A standard 5-piece Drum kit will be provided. (Departments have to arrange for
  Intra deanery competitions)
- Growling is NOT allowed.
- Bands MUST contain at least ONE Indian Instrumentalist and at least 5 vocalists and
  not more than 8 vocalists.
- Individual Prizes for Best Original Composition, Best Vocalist, Best Keyboardist, Best
  Guitarist, Best Bassist, Best Drummer, and Best Indian (Melodic Instrumentalist) and Best
  Indian (Rhythm Instrumentalist). (Only for Finals)
- Failure to adhere to the given rules of this event will result in disqualification.

LITERATURE

Pot Pourri
- Registration : Offline Registration
- 3 members per team
- Consists of a mix of lit events like brain teasers, 20Q, Pictionary,
  dumb charades, rhyme it, extempore, what’s the good word, etc.
Quiz
- Registration : Offline Registration
- 3 members per team
- Written Prelims
- Time: 1 hour
Extempore
- Registration : Form Link
- Individual event
- Each participant will pick a topic from the mixed lot of topics and will
  have to speak on that impromptu topic for a set amount of time.
- Each participant will get 1 min speaking time + 30 secs preparation
  time on the spot
Debate
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Individual event.
- Topic will be given on the spot.
- Only black and white cartoons to be made.
- Time: 2 hours
Dumb charades (DC)
- Registration : Offline Registration
- 3 members per team
- In the event, one member of the team will enact the given topic/word
  and the other two members will guess the word.
- No spelling of words, rhyming words, symbols or pre-decided gestures,
  etc.are allowed
- Preliminary rounds to be decided by the judges (E.g. People, Movies, Etc.)
JAM (Just A Minute)
- Registration : Form Link
- 8-9 participants are picked per panel.
- The JAM master decides the preliminary rounds.
- In each panel, a topic is given and panelists have to speak
  on the same.
- Panelists can bang on the table/or ring the bell if an error is
  committed while speaking by other panelists, list out the error and
  speak if the JAM master agrees with the person then +5 for correct
  correction, -5 for wrong correction, +10 for every 5 seconds the
  participant speaks. Participants lose points on late start, early
  start, speech defect, grammatical error.
- Additional points for getting the buzzer at the end of the minute.
- No participant is eliminated during the course of JAM.
- Judged on clarity, content, presentation, relevance to the topic & language.
Creative Writing
- Registration : Form Link
- Poetry: (Duration : 1 hour; Minimum: 50 words; Maximum: 150 words).
- Essay: (Duration : 1 hour; Minimum: 1000 words; Maximum: 1500 words).
- Short Story: (Duration: 1 hour; Minimum: 500 words; Maximum: 750 words)
- English is the only medium of language that can be used
  for the events.
- Short Story and Micro Tale: A picture prompt will be given
  to draw inspiration from. Make the best use of the elements
  you see.
- Poetry and Essay: A choice of two topics will be given on the spot.

THEATRE

Street Theatre
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 8 + 2 minutes (including performance area entry and exit)
- Language: English Thematic (the dialogues, narration, etc of the play
  should be told in English)
- Jingle can be in any language (Every team has to have a minimum of 4 language
  in singing jingles)
- No of participants: Maximum of 25.
- Usage of loudspeakers will NOT be permitted.
- 10ft is the maximum permitted height for any formations during the
  street play. No girls and boys lifts allowed.
- Slot numbers to be provided by the swo.
- Vulgarity in movements and costume will NOT be entertained. Usage of fire
  and water on stage is NOT allowed.
Proscenium Theatre
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 20 + 5 minutes (This includes first stage setup and last stage
  clearance. Teams are expected to clean and clear the stage after their performance)
- Language: English/Hindi/Kannada
- No of participants: Maximum of 25 – including backstage crew. Teams are NOT allowed
  to change the participants for the finals.
- Properties: 4 plastic chairs and 1 table will be provided. All other settings
  need to be brought by the performing team.
- Lights: Basic lighting will be provided. Teams will NOT be allowed to bring
  in external lights.
- Projection: Overhead projector will be provided. Teams will have to bring
  in their own Laptops and Pen Drives/CDs.
- Sound: CD, MP3, DVD player facilities will be provided. 4 stand mic and 1
  cordless mic will be available for all teams.
- Slot numbers to be provided by the deanery.
- Teams/Productions in each deanery are expected to perform only one play
  as the production.
- Script of each play needs to be submitted at least 7 days prior to the event
  date to SWO coordinator and deanery event coordinator for vetting.
- Vulgarity in movements and costume will NOT be entertained. Usage of fire and
  water on stage is NOT allowed.
- Each deanery should have a minimum of 5 teams to compete in the prelims from which
  2 teams will be selected for the finals. Deaneries having fewer than 5 teams in Prelims,
  only 1 team will be selected to go to finals.
Mime
- Registration : Offline Registration
- Time: 7 + 1 mins (including stage entry and exit)
- Maximum 8+1 members per team (Including face painters, director,
  musicians, etc.. Not more than 8 members allowed on stage, +1 allowed
  only for light and sound console management)
- Music to be pre recorded.
- Vulgarity in movements and costume will NOT be entertained. Usage of fire and
  water on stage is NOT allowed.
Mono Acting
- Registration : Form link
- Time: 3+1 minutes (including entry and exit)
- It is a solo event.
- Language: English
- The minimum usage of props is allowed.
- Additional music for background can be used and needs to be submitted
  to the tech team managing the event beforehand.
- Mocking of political alliances and any other controversial or offensive
  dialogue’s or references will not be tolerated.
- Vulgarity in movements and costumes will not be entertained. The use of fire
  and water on stage is not allowed.

EXTRAVAGANZA

DATE: 15 and 16 March 2024
VENUE: Block-I Quadrangle Central Campus
Event will be held on the days of IN-BLOOM and BLOSSOMS on
15 and 16 March 2024.
Every team participating will be given grades and points (Based on the performance).
First, second, and third place will be given A, B, and C respectively.
Every team participating from each deanery will be graded either
D or E based on their performances. This may ensure every team participating
will add to the overall points of the Deanery.
Maximum Number of teams per deanery: 5
Minimum number of dancers in a team: 25 and no maximum limit
Minimum time limit per team: 7 minutes
Maximum Time Limit per team: 8 minutes
Maximum number of songs per team: 3
Maximum number of members in a team and maximum audience support for the event
are the most important criteria for grading.
Instruments, props, and costume usage are optional, and concentration is given
to the dance to be performed by the deanery or team. The team needs to bear expenses
for any costumes used, and the deanery does not take charge of the same.
Songs should be from Indian movies or folk songs.
The registration details, including the names and registration numbers of the team
members and the selected song, must be submitted to the Deanery Coordinators on or
before March 5, 2024, by the team leader.
The teacher coordinator is responsible for ensuring that songs are not repeated
within the deanery.
If there is a repetition of songs between any two teams from different deaneries,
the team that comes first with the song will be given preference, and the other team
will be asked to change their song.
Teacher coordinators have to make sure that the songs chosen from each department have
songs from all Indian languages, especially Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, etc., and
not only Hindi.
